~ Native American Animal Symbol ~

If you were born Dec 22 - Jan 19 ~ You are a Goose ~
If you want something done - give it to the Goose. Persevering, dogged, and ambitious to a fault, the Goose sets goals for accomplishment, and always obtains them. The goose is determined to succeed at all cost - not for the approval of other - but those with this Native American animal symbol competes with his/her own internal foe. Driven is the watchword for the Goose's dominating personality trait - which makes them excellent in business and competitive sports. When tempered with supportive, nurturing family and friends, the Goose excels in all things he/she attempts. In a loving environment the Goose can be very passionate, humorous, gregarious, and even sensual. However, lead to his/her own devises, the Goose may fall into obsessive or addictive behaviors that will inevitably be his/her demise.

Birthstone ~ December

It is December!
If you were Born this month you are a Tantalizing Turquoise!
Turquoise  " The Stone Of Guidance"
I blend the energy of the Heaven and Earth.  I am the shaman’s stone who heals the spirit, and induces wisdom, trust and kindness.

Turquoise History & Lore

Turquoise has long been a magical stone in the eyes of our Native Americans. It is said that after a long drought when rain finally came it melded with the Indians tears of joy to form the tranquilizing blue stone known as Turquoise, The Fallen Sky Stone.

This stone is found in it's beautiful Turquoise color, but also can be found in greens and light blues. For over 7000 year this intriguing stone has been thought to bring blessings, good fortune, protection and long life.

It's positive healing was so strong that the Native Americans believed that if you were wearing Turquoise and it cracked the stone had taken the blow that was meant for you.

Only a Kiss ~ Part 24

“Mother!” Ana called as Tilde started to leave the room. “We can’t go buy and expensive dress when we don’t have any money. We need to go look for jobs, not men. We can take care of ourselves. I bet you could get a job as a party or event planner. You’ve put on enough events to be an expert. Deidra could be a social media representative for people, she’s perfect for that job and you’d be surprised how many people are looking for someone to handle their social media.”
Ana began to feel excitement in her belly as she thought of all the possibilities. “I know my specialty is shoes, but I learned a great deal at the Fashion Institute. I can take in tailoring and make special order garments. Maybe even set up an Etsy store with some of my own designs. If we all work together we won’t need to marry for wealth, we can wait until we find someone to love.”
“Love.” The word spat from Tilde’s mouth as if it tasted vile.
Ana took a step back as Tilde’s eyes narrowed.
“Love is a myth, something naïve mothers tell their daughters in hopes of a happily ever after. But the reality is love does not pay bills. It does not put food on the tables, supply an education, or dress you clothes. Love makes you stupid and marrying for love when you could have married for wealth, makes you a fool. It is a fairy tale, nothing more.”
Ana went from being intimated of her mother to sad for her. “Haven’t you ever been in love? Didn’t you love Greg?”
Tilde’s eyes softened and Ana could see she was remembering a different time. She shook the thought away. “No, as I said love makes you stupid. I watched my friends all marry for ‘love’ and now more than half of them are divorced and barely making ends meet.”
Ana could tell her mother wasn’t telling the truth. She had loved once and apparently it had gone poorly. But Ana knew pushing her mother wasn’t an option.
“Now,” said Tilde, taking a deep breath to collect herself. “Get yourself together and we’ll go buy you a dress for tonight.”
The thought of another blind date made Ana’s stomach turn. She was already feeling sick at her mother’s rant regarding love. She thought of Brett’s handsome face and the way his kiss made her body and soul feel whole. Tilde couldn’t be right about love and if Ana followed her heart, maybe she could have love and still help her mother.
“No,” said Ana. “I’m not going on another date.”
Tilde sucked in a breath. “Then how do you expect to pay rent?”
“I don’t,” said Ana shaking her head. “I’m moving to San Francisco.”
“You cannot be serious,” said Tilde, her eyes narrowed.
“I am,” said Ana. “I’m going to San Francisco and I’m going to find Brett. I’ll get a job and if Brett and I hit it off like I know we will, then I won’t have to choose between finding love and helping you.”

“So you’re just abandoning us for some foolhardy scheme to land a man halfway across the country!”

Only a Kiss ~ Part 23

“Fine,” said Ana. “I’m glad this whole mess is over. I never wanted to do it in the first place.”
“Our agreement is still in place,” said Tilde, she glanced at her phone. “Timothy Rawlings just sent confirmation of your date tonight. He will pick you up at seven.” Tilde narrowed her eyes. “You will be on your best behavior, looks like Mr. Rawlings may be our last hope.”
“What do you mean?” asked Deidra. “Why would Ana Banana be our last hope?”
“I meant her last hope,” Tilde quickly corrected. “And don’t you have a date with Marvin Gunderson this afternoon?”
Deidra sighed. “I guess, but he’s such a bore. I’m thinking of ditching.”
Tilde plastered a false smile on her face. “Now Deidra we talked about this. Boring means stability and stability means you never have to buy from the bargain rack. Plus it’s your job to make a boring man what you want him to be.”
“True,” said Deidra nodding. “But I do have my work cut out for me.”
“If anyone can do it, you can,” said Tilde.
Deidra squared her shoulders as her face lit up at her mother’s compliment. “I think I’ll wear my new Oscar de la Renta sundress, I know it makes my mouth water.”
Ana watched as Deidra practically skipped out of her room.
“Marvin Gunderson?” Ana crossed her arms. “The King of Steel, Marvin Gunderson, whose family owns half the steel mills on this side of the Mississippi?”
Tilde nodded.
“So Deidra is just another pawn in your game.”
“Nobody is a pawn,” said Tilde. “Don’t be so dramatic. I’ve taken care of you girls all your lives and now it’s time for you to take care of me. Don’t you want to help your poor mother out? Or would you rather see me destitute and out on the streets?”
“Now who’s being dramatic?” mumbled Ana.
If Tilde heard Ana’s remark she let it slide and walked to Ana’s closet. “Timothy is taking you to the opera tonight. Where are your gowns?”
“Gowns?” Ana cocked her head. “I only have one and it’s in the back of the closet. It was the one I let Cindy borrow for Greg’s masquerade gala.”
“You are charitable with the word borrow,” said Tilde. “And that won’t do, it’s two years old. We’ll have to go shopping. Get dressed the car will be here in half an hour.”
“Mother!” Ana called as Tilde started to leave the room. “We can’t go buy and expensive dress when we don’t have any money. We need to go look for jobs, not men. We can take care of ourselves. I bet you could get a job as a party or event planner. You’ve put on enough events to be an expert.
